Leadership

Prof. Lindie du Plessis is the CEO of Shawu Tours and Safaris. She is also a senior researcher, lecturer, and the director of the School of Tourism and Economic Sciences at North-West University in Potchefstroom, South Africa. With numerous international publications on tourism and a distinguished academic background, she is recognized as one of the leading figures in tertiary tourism education. Prof. du Plessis brings her extensive expertise, gained through years of study and research, to ensure that Shawu stands out from other operators in the industry.

Her husband, Mr. Nardus du Plessis, serves as Operations Director. A businessman, entrepreneur, hunter, and conservationist. He has a deep passion for travel, nature, and the outdoors. Nardus oversees the business operations of the company and plays an integral role as a guide and host to our clients. Given the unfortunate crime challenges in certain parts of Africa—especially in some areas of South Africa—his qualifications as a VIP Protection Specialist add an essential layer of security, ensuring our clients’ safety and peace of mind.
